Sustainable Footwear

29 March 2023

Jointly organised by the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS), the Polytechnic of Cávado and Ave (IPCA), and the Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK), the RUN-EU Short Advanced Programme (SAP) Sustainable Footwear Futures, is a skills enhancing and sustainable practice-based programme.

Each of the coordinators comes from a strong background in Fashion, Textile and Footwear Design.

This SAP will enable participants from Design, Fine Art and Engineering degrees to explore creative applications for regenerative fibres and digital fabrication techniques for textiles, pattern drafting, technical footwear production techniques, and innovative digital design processes.

The Limerick School of Art & Design (TUS) will lead the textile element, based on the expertise developed in Fashion and Textile Design.

IPCA will lead the digital fabrication element, and HAMK will lead the creative and technical pattern drafting and production element.
