The Polytechnic of Leiria, leader of RUN-EU, hosted all its members between 6 and 7 December 2022, to discuss further the project’s strategy and sustainability.

The meeting brought together over 30 participants, representatives of the seven RUN-EU universities in Leiria, Portugal: the Polytechnic of Leiria and the Polytechnic of Cávado and Ave (Portugal), the Technological University of the Shannon (Ireland), Széchenyi István University (Hungary), the Häme University of Applied Sciences (Finland), the NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences (The Netherlands) and the Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences (Austria).

The second stage in the development of RUN-EU will see the expansion of the alliance from seven to nine like-minded regionally focused Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), committed to societal transformation in their regions in the context of both new and emerging regional and global challenges, sustainable regional development and regional needs.

As the alliance is striving to strengthen its international relations, the future members of RUN-EU, the University of Burgos (Spain) and the Howest University of Applied Sciences (Belgium) participated as well.
