FAQ
While many students would like to participate together with their friends, it cannot always be guaranteed that friends applying for the same programme will all be selected. Selection usually depends on factors such as motivation, academic background, and available places.
But don’t be discouraged if your friend isn’t selected. Even if you travel on your own, you will quickly connect with other students participating in the same programme and make new friends along the way.
The programmes are generally free of charge. However, costs for travelling as well as accommodation abroad will occur. For these costs, you can apply for funding. Please contact the International Office of your home institution to find out more details about the funding available to you.
Many of the offered learning opportunities do award ECTS credits. Generally, you have to clarify with your degree programme in your home university if the ECTS credits gained from a RUN-EU learning opportunity can be recognized to count towards your degree or if they will be counted as extra-curricular.
If you are selected for a RUN-EU learning opportunity and it entails a physical mobility and you would miss lectures or exams in your home institution you should get in contact with the respective teacher or the administration directly to clarify your absence.
Students are generally responsible for organising their own travel and accommodation during their mobility. In some cases, home institutions may organise group travel or provide recommendations, so it is best to contact your International Office for guidance. We also encourage students to consider sustainable travel options, such as train or bus, and consult the RUN-EU Sustainable Mobility Guide for tips on planning a greener journey.
