Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences
The Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences (FHV) in Dornbirn is Vorarlberg’s largest university one of the pioneers of applied sciences in Austria. Founded in 1994, every year around 1,600 students enrol in technology, business, design, social work and health study programmes.
FHV is one of the most research-intensive universities of applied sciences in Austria, counting with five research centres (Microtechnology, User Centred Technologies, Business Informatics, Energy and Digital Factory Vorarlberg) and one research group (Empirical Social Sciences).
In 2020, its research income was 4,7 million euros. 50% of the ongoing and completed research projects were based on collaborations with businesses/organisations in Vorarlberg.
FHV cooperates with other European higher education communities since 2020 and has 132 partner universities worldwide.
