The Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) will host the RUN-EU Innothon ‘Empowering Future Leaders to Innovate in Sustainable Tourism’ on 25 February 2025 in Limerick, Ireland.

Students will learn the key principles of developing an innovative sustainable tourism product or service. The programme will place a strong emphasis on the circular economy, offering an in-depth exploration of its vital role in shaping the future of tourism. We will explore the complex relationship between tourism and environmental change, highlighting the urgent need for sustainable practices. Participants will gain valuable insights into how science and technology are driving the decarbonisation of the industry, with real-world case studies and examples of best practices to inspire innovative solutions.

Beyond understanding the industry, the programme will equip students with the practical tools and knowledge needed to start and grow their businesses, covering everything from registration and tax to marketing and finance. Students will also explore the future challenges and trends facing sustainable tourism, ensuring you’re prepared to lead and thrive in an ever-evolving landscape. This is more than a learning opportunity—it’s a chance to redefine tourism for a better tomorrow.

  • Brainstorm new product ideas in sustainable tourism.
