Researcher Career Development Training Programme 2023

RUN-EU PLUS is organising the 2023 Researcher Career Development Training Programme to support RUN-EU researchers in identifying their research skills and personal career paths and encourage inter-sectoral and international mobility.

Postgraduate students, early-stage career researchers, research supervisors, staff supporting researchers and research stakeholders within RUN-EU are all welcome to participate in the workshops according to their interests.

Each workshop will focus on different aspects of researcher skills, career paths and working environments.

Besides workshop presentations, you will be invited to discuss relevant topics shared by all researchers with researchers from other universities of RUN-EU.

  • What are the benefits of using an ORCID iD?
  • How do I create an ORCID iD?
  • What information should I include in an ORCID profile?
  • How do I link my ORCID iD to other research profiles I use e.g. Scopus and Web of Science?
  • How to link ORCID to awarded grants
  • How to link ORCID to peer review activity
  • How will the RUN-EU portal use ORCID?
  • What is the purpose of persistent identifiers in Research?
  • How are persistent identifiers used?

An Immersive Approach to Teaching Open Science Principles and Practices to Research Students

It will focus on:

  • How and where can Open Science principles and practices be incorporated into a research project?
  • ‘Open Science’ is a broad term, are some parts more or less important for students to learn about?
  • Who can/should teach research students about Open Science?
  • When is a good time for research students to be introduced to Open Science?
  • Where is a good place to begin when introducing Open Science to research students?
  • Can there be any negative implications for students to learn about Open Science?
  • Can there be any negative implications for students to practice open science?
  • How I can support research students in learning about Open Science principles and practices?
  • Is there a ‘best practice’ approach to teaching research students about Open Science?
  • How can I support my students in learning about Open Science if I am not confident with this myself?
  • Open science is often discussed in the context of quantitative research. How does Open Science relate to ‘qualitative researchers’?
