26 September 2022

September 14, 2022, was a historic day for RUN-EU, with the signing of the first two Double Degree agreements, at an event at the Polytechnic of Cávado and Ave (IPCA) Campus.

The first agreement was concluded between IPCA and the Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences (FHV), for the master’s courses of the two institutions in Electronic and Mechatronics Engineering.

The Polytechnic of Leiria (IPLeiria) also signed an agreement with the University of Győr – Széchenyi István (SZE) for a Double Degree in Tourism.

Students who take part in these Double Degrees will see their course recognised by the two higher education institutions and, in the end, they will be issued two master’s degrees by the Universities and Polytechnics that signed the agreements.

In the words of the President of IPCA, Maria José Fernandes, ‘this is a very important event because it is the first meeting of the presidents of RUN-EU here at the IPCA. I stand out the signing of the first double degree agreements, and I state that we are all committed to aligning a strategy for the future and designing a new application.’

The signing occurred under the RUN-EU Week at IPCA, which took place from 13 to 15 September.

During these days, IPCA hosted the Presidents, Rectors and CEOs of the seven higher education institutions that make up RUN-EU, as well as the Group Exploratory Mission (GEM) in Informatics and Computer Science, and also the coordinating members of the Short Advanced Programmes (SAP) in each institution.
