SHORT ADVANCED PROGRAMME
RUN-EU Research Challenge Accounting and Finance CICF – 2nd edition
3 June 2024
Jointly organised by the Polytechnic University of Cávado and Ave (IPCA), and the Technological University of the Shannon (TUS), the second SAP Research Challenge ‘Accounting and Finance CICF’ is designed to encourage the development of face-to-face R&D activities focused on discussing new challenges and critical perspectives in Accounting and Finance Research.
The SAP programme is divided into two components: training and group research.
The training component will be based on short thematic workshops, led by academics and experts. These workshops will focus on setting the agenda for Accounting and Finance-related research topics (namely digital and dialogue accounting, accountability and reporting on the SDGs, green taxes, financial topics, entrepreneurship and communication) and training on basic research components (namely Research Methodologies, Data Analysis, Scientific Writing, Preparing Scientific Pitches and Funding Opportunities).
For the research component (called Hands-On), young researchers will be integrated into projects currently being carried out in IPCA’s R&D units and challenged to carry out a short-term R&D project oriented towards the project’s objectives. The students will divide into groups under the supervision of a senior researcher.
In addition to the research activities, the young researchers will participate in scientific discussions among the different members of the IPCA R&D units, called Journal Club. They will be challenged to analyse a recent scientific publication and present their methods, results and key findings to the IPCA scientific community.
Finally, all students will prepare an oral presentation of the projects developed in the scientific communication sessions of the IPCA R&D units.
