Decoding the Global Campus: Your Guide to Cultural Fluency

10 February 2026

The Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences, the NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences (NHL Stenden), the Technological University of the Shannon, and the Howest University of Applied Sciences are organising the FAPSA Online Workshop ‘Decoding the Global Campus: Your Guide to Cultural Fluency’ on 10 March 2026.

Cultural competence is a vital skill in the international higher education environment. Cultural differences present both unique opportunities and practical challenges within our increasingly diverse academic and professional settings.

This interactive workshop is designed to provide you with the essential frameworks to interpret and manage cross-cultural interactions effectively.

We will explore how culture influences perceptions, values, and communication styles, using practical models like Erin Meyer’s Culture Map as a foundation for discussion.

Through guided reflection and peer exchange, you will gain tangible insights into how culture shapes thinking and behaviour. The goal is to equip you with practical strategies to foster mutual understanding and enhance collaboration in diverse educational and administrative contexts across the RUN-EU network and beyond.
