Future Explorations – 3rd edition

The Short Advanced Programme (SAP) ‘Future Explorations – 3rd edition’ is jointly coordinated by the Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences (FHV), the Häme University of Applied Sciences (HAMK), and the NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences (NHL Stenden).
This SAP challenge focuses on how to promote sustainable development through the integration of smart technologies.
Using design futuring and innovation development methods, prototypical solutions are being developed for specific challenges provided by cooperation partners and other initiatives.

Learning outcomes
By the end of this Short Advanced Programme, students will be able to:
- Know how to assess future developments and apply methods of trend analysis, future assessment and design futuring to develop future scenarios.
- Develop innovative and/or technologically supported or communicative solutions addressing future challenges and evaluate their feasibility.
- Combine theoretical knowledge as well as methodological competencies in the process of innovation development.
- Know how to work in an interdisciplinary team and face a final presentation, including a discussion.

Selection criteria
Background, motivation, learning objectives, wide representation of subject areas/fields and balanced participation of RUN-EU member institutions. A maximum of 30 students will be selected for this programme. The selection team will also take steps towards ensuring diversity and representativity.
Scholarships
The selected students will receive travel grants based on the travel distance and the subsistence costs in the country the SAP is offered in:

Portugal – Austria: €309
Finland – Austria: €309
The Netherlands – Austria: €309
Spain – Austria: €309
Belgium – Austria: €309
The subsistence grant for Austria is €553 (7 days x €79), except for students who already come from FHV.
