SHORT ADVANCED PROGRAMME
SeGAR – Serious Games in AR and VR
10 January 2025
The Short Advanced Programme (SAP) ‘SeGAR – Serious Games in AR and VR’ is jointly coordinated by the Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences (FHV), and the Polytechnic University of Cávado and Ave (IPCA).
The learning goal of this SAP is to develop a serious game for elderly or chronically ill people. These users should be activated by integrating immersive approaches such as Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR).
The project focuses on web-based technologies, as this allows the use of “normal” browsers on mobile devices such as smartphones.
This is particularly beneficial for older users, who are often overwhelmed by specialised VR/AR devices or are unable or unwilling to afford them.
