Researcher Career Development Training Programme 2024

RUN-EU PLUS organises the 2024 Researcher Career Development Training Programme to support RUN-EU researchers in identifying their research skills and personal career paths, and to promote intersectoral and international mobility.

Postgraduate students, early-stage researchers, research supervisors, researcher support staff and research stakeholders within RUN-EU are welcome to attend the workshops according to their interests.

Each workshop will focus on different aspects of researchers’ skills, career paths and working environments.

In addition to workshop presentations, you will be invited to discuss relevant issues common to all researchers with researchers from other RUN-EU universities.

Teaching Open Science Principles and Practices to Research Students – 2nd Edition

  • How and where can open science principles and practices be incorporated into a research project? 
  • ‘Open science’ is a broad term, are some parts more or less important for students to learn about? 
  • Who can/should teach research students about open science? 
  • When is a good time for research students to be introduced to open science?

It will focus on:

  • Sharing research data and publications.  
  • Navigating IPR issues related to copyright and licensing.  
  • Patents for inventions to protect their commercial interests.  
  • Balancing open sharing with patent protection. 

10 April 2024

Preregistration and Open Review

It will focus on:

  • How to pre-register your research and why you should do it.
  • The benefits of open peer review.


15 April 2024

How to design Researcher Skills ePortfolio? 

Part – 2

Date:   15 April 2024

Time:  13.00-14.30 PM, CET

It will focus on:

  • What can the researcher skills portfolio look like? You will be given the opportunity to demonstrate your ePortfolio competence. Some examples and drafts will be presented by the participants of the first workshop. (Part 2)
