The city of Leiria came alive with vibrant celebrations as RUN-EU joined in the commemoration of Europe Day, on 9 May.

The event was made even more special by the enthusiastic participation of the RUN-EU Student Council from the Polytechnic of Leiria. The entire team, displayed remarkable dedication and passion, making the day an outstanding success.

The festivities included a wide range of engaging activities that catered to diverse interests. Participants had the opportunity to partake in workshops, enjoy concerts and theatre performances, explore exhibitions, participate in games, and engage in various sports, environmental, and manual activities.

Furthermore, they had the privilege of attending talks with Members of the European Parliament, offering valuable insights into the European Union’s important work.

The atmosphere was electric, and the entire day was filled with excitement and joy. Participants expressed their appreciation for the unforgettable experience, making it a truly perfect day.

The event was organised by the Representation of the European Commission in Portugal, the Parlamento Europeu Gabinete em Portugal, and the Município de Leiria, with media partnerships from RTP and RTP Europa.
