Campus of European Universities
4 July 2022
On 30 June 2022, RUN-EU participated in the Campus of European Universities, organised by the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union (FPEU) at the Palais des Congrès in Versailles (France).
The event gathered the heads of the higher education institutions that form the 41 European University alliances, representatives of the Member States and the European Commission, as well as socioeconomic stakeholders (companies, local governments, cities, research bodies, etc.), to promote the work developed so far and highlight the importance of European Universities. It was also open to partners from outside Europe to showcase the international dimension of the European Universities initiative.
RUN-EU was represented by Rui Pedrosa, the President of the Polytechnic of Leiria, Nuno Rodrigues, Coordinator of RUN-EU and Vice-President of Polytechnic of Leiria, Daniela Marques, RUN-EU Student Advisory Board chairperson from the Polytechnic of Leiria, Paula Tavares, Vice-President of IPCA, and João Vilaça, Pro-President of IPCA.
The Campus included plenary sessions and workshops, as well as an exhibition space, the ‘Village of Alliances’, where the 41 European University alliances were represented. During thematic workshops and roundtable discussions, the alliances and stakeholders also discussed how European Universities contribute to the implementation of the European strategy empowering higher education institutions for the future of Europe, approved by the Council under the French Presidency in April.
In January 2022, the FPEU has also organised the Forum of Universities for the Future of Europe.
