RUN-EU ICARUS 4 Conference 2025
29 April 2025
Hosted by the Polytechnic University of Cávado and Ave, the 4th Edition of RUN-EU ICARUS – Annual International Conference on Applied Research with Business and Society (ICARUS), together with the second edition of RUN-EU Innovation Meet Regions, will take place from 21 to 23 May 2025 in Braga, Portugal, at the Fórum Braga.
This international event will be co-located with the Braga Economy Week, a prominent national initiative that brings academia and industry together in a collaborative environment.
For the first time, ICARUS will be held in a hybrid format, combining in-person and online participation. The programme includes a diverse range of activities, such as keynote speeches aligned with the RUN-EU European Innovation Hubs, round tables on innovation ecosystems, and international research presentations featuring contributions from all RUN-EU member institutions.
Throughout the three days, the event will gather students, researchers, academics, business leaders, and societal stakeholders, fostering the exchange of knowledge, innovation, and collaboration between higher education and the wider community.
One of the key highlights will be the RUN-EU Technology Showcase, integrated into the Braga Economy Week, where cutting-edge projects developed within the RUN-EU consortium will be presented. This initiative aims to create new opportunities for collaboration, strengthen technology transfer, and support the development of a robust and sustainable innovation ecosystem at the regional and European levels.
In addition, the event will feature a series of Brainstorming Meetings under the umbrella of the Innovation Hubs, visits to regional industries, and dedicated B2B matchmaking sessions. A Research and Innovation Capacitation Programme will also be delivered, providing participants with tools to further develop their research impact and innovation potential.
Altogether, this joint event offers a unique platform to strengthen international networks, build strategic partnerships, and promote applied research as a key driver of social and economic development.
