SHORT ADVANCED PROGRAMME

Geopolitical Challenges in a Rapidly Changing World – 2nd edition

6 August 2024

Jointly organised by the Polytechnic University of Leiria (IPLeiria), and the NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences (NHL Stenden) the RUN-EU Short Advanced Programme (SAP) ‘Geopolitical Challenges in a Rapidly Changing World’ – 2nd edition, will help prepare RUN-EU students for the challenges in geopolitical context.

We all live in a global world. This world is changing rapidly, which brings with it certain challenges, especially in a geopolitical context. This SAP will help prepare RUN-EU students for these challenges by addressing questions such as:

  • What is geopolitics?
  • Why is it important?
  • What factors influence it?
  • How can we deal with geopolitical challenges?

This programme’s goal is to develop students’ critical thinking skills and provide them with a framework for understanding the interplay between geography, power, economics, and international relations in global affairs. This entails analysing geopolitical phenomena from three different angles: legal, security and economic.
