A new milestone has been reached as the RUN-EU 2.0 research community launched the RUN Research Expert Network on 15 July 2024.

The network is the backbone of RUN-Discovery within the RUN-EU European Research Area (RUN-ERA) – Work Package 3 – and its tasks are crucial for strengthening the collaboration of the alliance partners in research and development.

The network:

• searches for funding opportunities on a meta-level;
• receives and distributes research proposals (from 1^st idea to almost finished proposal) within the RUN-EU alliance to find the most suitable researcher for collaboration;
• establishes and supports international research groups;
• provides training opportunities for Short Research and Innovation Training Missions;
• will establish and manage the RUN Student Academy and RUN Student Colloquia.

The Network is composed of highly qualified researchers or funding experts (up to two from each RUN-EU Alliance member) and is the main contact group for research activities across RUN-EU.

Markus Preißinger, from the Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences (FHV) in Austria was elected as Network Manager.
