RUN-EU EPA Mission on ‘Creative Regions in AI’ hosted by IPCA

Held from 13 to 16 May at the Polytechnic University of Cávado and Ave (IPCA), in Barcelos, Portugal, the EPA-Mission ‘Creative Regions in AI Times’ brought together representatives from several institutions that are part of the European alliance RUN-EU.
The main objective of this event was to foster the development of joint programmes, particularly in the field of Smart Cities in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI), through a diverse programme combining thematic sessions, collaborative activities, and visits to relevant stakeholders.
Key highlights of the event
- Opening sessions and keynote talks, featuring inspiring contributions from both IPCA representatives and external speakers;
- Workshops focused on pedagogical innovation and digital inclusion, addressing topics such as the RUN-EU Pedagogical Framework and best practices related to the ‘European Degree’ initiative;
- Working groups running throughout the event, offering intensive moments of cooperation, reflection, and co-creation;
- A visit to DST Group, with a special focus on the Mosaic project, a model of best practices in innovation and sustainability.
The event ended on Friday morning with the presentation of results from the various working groups, which already include concrete proposals for the development of new collaborative learning opportunities, particularly joint master’s degrees.
