The University of Burgos (UBU) is hosting the RUN-EU Innothon ‘Innovation Hackathon For The Action’ on 14 and 15 February 2025 in La Estación de la Ciencia y la Cultura in Burgos, Spain.

This event brings together pre-university and university students from various disciplines in an environment of innovation and collaboration and aims to encourage creativity and teamwork to find innovative solutions to the current challenges of the circular economy in rural areas of the province of Burgos.

An area of great natural value and geographical diversity, facing environmental challenges in terms of water management, the preservation of ecosystems and the transition to renewable energies, seeking a balance between development and sustainability, and at the same time facing major social problems such as rural depopulation and an ageing population.

Throughout the two days, participants will work in mixed teams, taking advantage of the Design Thinking methodology, which will allow them to develop concrete proposals to solve the challenge posed.

This practical and collaborative approach will also allow them to enhance key skills in the workplace, such as problem-solving, effective communication and team management.
